Lucille Loretta Byrnes, 88, of Lansing, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at Thornton Manor Care Center in Lansing. Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Fr. Herbert Tegeler officiating. Burial was in Gethsemane Cemetery in Lansing.

Regina E. Mahoney, 77, of Waukon, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon following a brief illness. Funeral services were held June 24, 2000, at St. John’s Baptist West Ridge Catholic Church in rural Waukon, under the direction of Fr. Vincent Simon. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Willard Leo Cunningham, 81, of Waukon, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon following a brief illness. Funeral services were conducted June 27 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Waukon, with Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Waukon.

Theresa A. Leikvold, 61, of Waukon, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Veteran’s Memorial Hospital, Waukon, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held June 26 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon with Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Waukon.
Theresa Ann Leikvold was born March 25, 1939, at the Wexford area home of her parents, Earl and Marie (Kelly) Kelly. She was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Wexford Catholic Church and attended rural Wexford area schools and Harpers Ferry School.

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Kjersten Fae Colsch was born June 23, at Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Waukon. At birth, the infant weighed six pounds, fourteen and a half ounces. Kjersten’s parents are Stacey Mahr and Bill Colsch of Monona.
She is the granddaughter of Frank and Tammy Mahr of Spring Grove, MN and Charlie and Debbie Colsch of Rossville. Her great-grandparents are Walter and Marianne Mahr of Dorchester, Lorna Rychecky of Cedar Rapids and Margaret Colsch of Waukon.
She joins a brother Austin who is five years old.

VOWS EXCHANGED AT PALESTINE LUTHERAN CHURCH IN HUXLEY

Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley was the setting for the March 11, exchange of vows, between Stephanie Peterson, daughter of Sharon Peterson of Marsing, ID, and Max Peterson of Stanton, and Chris Stein, son of Alfred and Jeanne Stein of Lansing. Pastor Donald Dovre performed the ceremony.
Loraine Whittaker of Marsing, and Helen Stein of Portsmouth are the couple’s grandparents.

COUPLE EXCHANGES VOWS TO BEGIN MILLENNIUM

The Rt. Rev. Monsignor Edward Lechtenberg conducted the January 1 wedding ceremony of Lana Deeney and Dustan Snitker. The one o'clock exchange of vows took place in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon.
The bride is the daughter of Tom and Diana Deeney, and the groom's parents are Darrell and Kay Snitker, all of Waukon.
