Assessor exams to be held in April

Iowa Department of Revenue Director Michael Ralston recently announced the scheduling of statewide examinations for the positions of deputy assessor and city or county assessor. The examination for deputy assessor will be held April 9 at 8:30 a.m. in the fourth floor conference room of the Hoover State Office Building in Des Moines. Examination for city or county assessor will be held April 16 at 8:30 a.m., also in the Hoover Building, fourth floor conference room.

Job Fair set for March 17

Thursday, March 17, a job fair will be held at the Northeast Iowa Community-Based Dairy Center, from 1 to 4 p.m. The Dairy Center is located south of Calmar on highway 150 just south of the NICC Campus.

The job fair will provide businesses the opportunity to showcase their businesses, take applications, and talk with prospective employees about employment and potential internships. Several hundred job seekers are expected to attend the fair.

Have a Heart Day another success ...



The 15th annual Have a Heart Day provided by area health providers proved to be another busy day again this year. Family Chiropractic Associates, Veterans Memorial Hospital, and Waukon Dental participated. All three locations were pleased to see that their donated services were appreciated with such high turn out from the public. It was a rewarding day for all.

Waukon Nursery School has announced plans to offer an all-day preschool program for children preparing to enter kindergarten in 2006. The all-day program will supplement, not replace, the school's half-day programs for 3-4 year old students and 4-5 year old students.
